Mental Elf Fun Run - Newport Mind

Join us for our Mental Elf 5km fun run on Sunday 1st December at the Riverfront, Newport!

We’re excited to launch our first ever Mental Elf 5km event!

Mental Elf is a fun run with the emphasis on fun – we have 5k flat(ish) route for all ages to take part in. It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned runner or prefer a stroll to take in your surroundings, this event is for everyone!

This is a fun, festive event which focuses on bringing people together, not only to fundraise, but to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing. It’s about coming together with your local community, to do something that’s good for you, whilst giving something back by helping to raise vital funds for Mind in Gwent. You’ll be connecting with others, doing some physical activity, spending some time in nature and getting the feel-good factor of supporting your local mental health charity – all things that help to boost your own mental wellbeing.

Take part in our 5km family fun run at the Riverfront, Newport

You can choose to walk, jog, skip or run the 5km park run route. The event is open to all ages and abilities, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Discounts are available for family and group/corporate teams. Elf fancy dress is very much encouraged!

Event details

When: Sunday 1st December

Registration opens from 10am, race starts at 11am.

Where: Riverfront, Newport

Our start and finish lines will be behind the Riverfront Theatre in Newport centre.

The 5k route is a loop that will take you along the banks of the river Usk. The course is paved and mostly flat throughout. Plus, you’ll see some lovely monuments and points of interest on the way. It’s a great route to showcase some of the hidden beauty of Newport, and the river helps to connect with nature.

Whilst fundraising isn’t compulsory for this event, we would encourage each person taking part to reach a target of £20.
