Newport Mind at 40
Book Launch and Creative Therapies showcase
Thursday 8 November, 7pm and Wednesday 14 November, 1pm
Mezzanine gallery, The Riverfront, Newport
Free with retiring collection in aid of Newport Mind
As part of our 40th anniversary celebrations, some of our service users at Newport Mind have been taking part in a number of creative projects throughout the year – including poetry, creative writing, photography, art and singing.
Join us as we launch a new book showcasing this work, compiled by the service users themselves, and exhibit some of the photography featuring in the book.
There will also be poetry readings from the writers involved in the project, and performances from Newport Mind’s singing groups. There will also be performances by St Woolos Primary School Choir, Age Alive BAME singing group and Newport City Radio DJ Lindsey Freckleton.
Copies of the book compiled by service users, More Than My Mind, will be available on sale during the event, with all proceeds going to Newport Mind.
Newport Mind’s Creative Therapies project is kindly supported by Mind Creative Therapies Fund Wales 2017–2018.
